SINGAPORE, June 26 -- Workers' Party (WP) cadres are expected to decide on June 28 whether party chief Pritam Singh will continue leading the opposition party, amid reported internal moves by a group seeking leadership change.

According to The Straits Times, a faction of cadres is planning to challenge Singh at the party's internal elections following growing dissatisfaction linked to his conviction for lying to a parliamentary committee, which was upheld by the High Court in December 2025.

The vote will take place during two meetings involving more than 100 cadres, who form the party's inner circle, including a special conference requested by 25 members who have called for Singh to account for his actions and potentially step down.
