SINGAPORE, July 23 -- Singapore is committing S$4 billion (RM12.7 billion) over the next 15 years to overhaul its air navigation services, a massive investment designed to cement the city-state's status as a premier global aviation hub.

The upgrade includes a comprehensive refurbishment of Changi Airport's iconic control tower and the integration of next-generation systems at the Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre (SATCC), The Straits Times reported

Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Director-General Han Kok Juan stated that the move is essential to meet a projected tripling of global air passenger traffic over the next 25 years, with the Asia-Pacific region expected to drive half of that growth.
