SINGAPORE, July 22 -- Artificial intelligence (AI), STEM education and holistic student development will anchor Asean's next five-year education strategy, under a regional work plan launched on July 22 by Education Minister Desmond Lee and his counterparts from across Southeast Asia.

The Straits Times reported that the Asean Work Plan on Education 2026-2030 sets out six long-term goals: equitable access to learning at all life stages, future-relevant skills, stronger student well-being and foundational learning, better governance and accountability, deeper regional cooperation, and a shared Asean identity.
