SINGAPORE, Oct. 7 -- Singapore's egg supply remains stable for now despite Thailand's move to cut exports by up to half, with Malaysia among more than 10 countries the city-state can turn to for supplies.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) said less than 15 per cent of Singapore's egg supply comes from Thailand, while other sources include Malaysia, Indonesia and Ukraine, according to CNA.

Thailand has asked companies to reduce egg exports by between 30 per cent and 50 per cent until December after severe flooding killed about three million hens and disrupted domestic supplies.

SFA said it had contacted Thai authorities and engaged local importers, and was monitoring developments.
