Simplified: New 10-year Malaysian passport at RM350; pay up to RM550 to RM1,350 if you lose it
Kuala Lampur, June 3 -- KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 - Malaysians will be able to apply for a new Malaysian passport with a 10-year validity (up from the current 5-year validity) by paying RM350, based on a new government order.
In the new government order (Fees (Passports and Visas) (Amendment) Order 2026) which was gazetted and came into effect yesterday, Malaysians will have to pay RM350 when applying for the 10-year passport.
That is unless you are aged 60 and above (RM175); are aged above 18 and a registered person with disabilities (OKU) holding a Kad OKU (free); or an officer or staff of the Immigration Department of Malaysia (also free).
