Senior medical officer in Melaka remanded over RM1.5m knee implant supply probe
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 8 -- A senior medical officer has been remanded for five days to assist a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation into alleged abuse of position involving the supply of knee implants worth about RM1.5 million.
The remand order for the man, in his 50s, was issued by Ayer Keroh Magistrate Sharda Shienha Mohd Suleiman at the Ayer Keroh Magistrates' Court in Melaka this morning, Harian Metro reported.
The public servant has been remanded until September 12 after MACC applied for the order to facilitate further investigations.
According to a source, the suspect was detained at about 3.30pm yesterday after he arrived at the Melaka MACC office to give a statement.
