SHAH ALAM, Oct. 17 -- The Selangor government is implementing immediate safety measures at the Bandar Utama secondary school where a 16-year-old student was fatally stabbed by a schoolmate on Tuesday.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state is working with the Education Ministry, police, and parents to restore confidence in school safety following the tragedy.
The immediate measures include deploying metal detectors at the school, expanding CCTV coverage, and introducing a smart notification system to improve communication between teachers and parents.
In addition, Amirudin said the state will hold a memorial gathering for parents, teachers, and students to honour the victim and help the community process the trauma.
