Sarawak implements Education Ministry's Child Protection Policy, parents among those required to sign compliance pledge
KUCHING, Aug. 7 -- Sarawak began implementing the Ministry of Education's (MoE) Child Protection Policy (CPP) on July 27, months after the nationwide rollout was announced in January.
Sarawak Education director Omar Mahli said the State Education Department has directed all district education offices to immediately implement the policy after receiving MoE Circulars (SPI) No. 3 and No. 4 of 2026.
"Although an initial briefing on the policy was conducted in early February, its implementation in Sarawak could only proceed after the necessary authority for its implementation was obtained," he told The Borneo Post.
