Rental house used as ketum processing 'lab' busted in Pasir Mas raid
KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 -- A rental house allegedly used as a "lab" for processing and selling ketum water since last year in Gual Periok near Pasir Mas, Kelantan, was raided by the General Operations Force (PGA) on Monday night.
According to Utusan Malaysia, the 11.30pm raid led to the seizure of 100 litres of ketum water and processing equipment, with the total value estimated at RM5,430.
Eastern Brigade PGA commander Senior Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the operation led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man and the discovery of 100 packets of ketum drink stored in a freezer at the premises.
He said initial investigations found the suspect had been involved in processing ketum drinks since early 2025.
