RANAU, May 22 -- Police are tracking down a 35-year-old man with a previous murder case record following an assault and criminal intimidation incident at a grocery store in Kampung Matupang here on Tuesday.

District police chief Supt. Mursalin Mahmud said a 19-year-old victim lodged a police report at about 3.56pm on May 21, claiming he was beaten and threatened by a man known to him.

He said initial investigations found the incident occurred at about 6pm on May 19 when the victim, a palm oil weigher, was buying daily necessities at the grocery store before the suspect allegedly scolded him and produced a brass knuckle.
