KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 6 -- Former Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar will take temporary leave from her duties as PKR deputy president after the party's national congress next week.

PKR information chief Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil in a statemen this evening said Nurul Izzah had initially expressed her intention to step down from the post, but the party's Central Leadership Council (MPP) decided instead to grant her a temporary break from the role.

"After hearing the views of Nurul Izzah and the party leadership, the MPP agreed to grant Nurul Izzah temporary leave beginning after the 2026 National Congress until a date to be announced," Fahmi said.
