IPOH, Sept. 22 -- Personnel from the People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) assisted the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) in setting up a tiger trap in Kampung Takung, Pos Perwor, following a tiger attack that claimed the life of an Orang Asli resident last Monday.

According to a Facebook post by Rela Sungai Siput (North) district office, several members were deployed to assist Perhilitan, help ensure the safety of local residents and address the threat posed by the animal.

"Residents and members of the public are advised not to approach or enter areas identified as tiger habitats. They should also refrain from taking independent action and comply with all instructions issued by the authorities.
