KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 15 -- PAS has declared its readiness to govern the country and to put forward a prime ministerial candidate from within its leadership.
Party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said PAS would govern by upholding the Federal Constitution while adhering to what he described as the true interpretation of Islam, according to a report published in Utusan Malaysia today.
He stressed that the party would not sideline the rights and interests of other communities, in line with Malaysia's multi-ethnic society.
