KOTA BARU, Aug. 11 -- PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said he would leave it to his lawyers to respond to the defamation suit filed against him by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Kubang Kerian MP said the remarks at the centre of the suit were general in nature and had also been raised by other parties and sources, the New Straits Times reported.

"I have handed the matter over to my lawyers to take the necessary action.

"What I stated was something general, which has also been mentioned by many parties and from various sources," he said.
