BANGKOK, Oct. 28 -- Thailand has urged Israeli tourists to behave respectfully while visiting the country following a meeting between Thai police and a senior Israeli security official to address increasing public frustration over their conduct.

According to the Bangkok Post, Surat Thani police chief Pol Maj Gen Suwat Suksri said Israeli Security Council adviser Avi Bitton supported swift and firm action against Israeli citizens who break Thai laws, including those operating illegal businesses.

"We hope the discussion will help resolve the problem of Israeli tourists engaging in inappropriate behaviour," Suwat said after the meeting in Phuket.
