KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 26 -- A 16-year-old Form Four student detained in connection with the murder investigation into the death of a Form Two student at a Kuala Pilah school has been remanded for six days, until October 1.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the remand application was made at the Seremban Magistrates' Court today.

"Police applied for the teenager to be remanded this morning and the court granted a six-day remand beginning today, until October 1," he said to Harian Metro.

Police had earlier said the student was detained to assist investigations after the death was classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
