PUTRAJAYA, Oct. 12 -- Malaysian commuters can expect significant savings in travel costs through the new RM50 monthly MyKomuter50 pass for KTM Komuter services set for launch between December 1 and the new year.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed today that the pass will grant Malaysian citizens unlimited journeys on KTM Komuter for 30 days. While the ministry is pushing for a Dec 1 start, Jan 1 remains the final deadline to ensure all technical preparations are seamless.

"We are targeting a launch as early as December 1 or, at the latest, January 1 next year. If it is not ready by December 1, we will launch it on January 1," Loke told a press conference at the Transport Ministry.
