KUDAT, Aug. 26 -- The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Kudat Zone conducted an inspection of a ferry operating on the Karakit-Kudat route on Sunday following information circulating on social media concerning the safety and comfort of its passengers.

The inspection found no offences or breaches of regulations involving the ferry, while the number of passengers on board was within the permitted limit and did not exceed its approved capacity.

MMEA Kudat Zone Director Maritime Commander Hasbullah Omar said the inspection was conducted to ensure ferry operators consistently complied with safety requirements and relevant regulations.
