Kuala Lampur, Oct. 12 -- The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) is urging the public to remain calm but vigilant amid a sharp increase in Influenza A and B cases nationwide, saying the situation can be managed with proper preventive measures.

The call for calm comes as Malaysia reported a significant surge in influenza clusters, jumping from 14 in the previous week to 97 in Epidemiological Week 40/2025.

Most of these clusters are concentrated in schools and educational institutions, prompting Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) to direct 34 of its boarding schools to switch to home-based learning.
