Man remanded after 100km police chase in Pasir Gudang ends with lorry ramming patrol car
JOHOR BAHRU, Oct. 1 -- A man accused of driving a stolen lorry against traffic and ramming a pursuing police car in Pasir Gudang has been remanded for three days to assist police investigations.
The local man, in his 30s, was escorted by police to the Johor Bahru court complex at about 8.30am today for a remand application.
Magistrate Tan Chiew King granted the three-day remand order after the suspect was brought before the Magistrate's Court.
Police said yesterday that the suspect was arrested after allegedly fleeing in a lorry stolen from Plentong.
He allegedly drove against the flow of traffic in an attempt to evade arrest, leading several police vehicles on a pursuit spanning about 100km.
