SINGAPORE, Oct. 5 -- A 32-year-old Malaysian man was arrested after Singapore authorities uncovered more than 400 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes hidden inside his motorcycle, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said this week.
The arrest took place at Woodlands Checkpoint on September 30 after ICA officers, acting on intelligence from its Integrated Targeting Centre, directed the Malaysia-registered motorbike for enhanced inspection.
During the search, officers found hundreds of cigarette packets concealed in black plastic bags and boxes tucked into the side fairings of the vehicle.
A video posted on ICA's Facebook page shows officers carefully removing the hidden contraband from various compartments of the motorbike.
