KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 -- Animated chaos has returned to the big screen as Minions & Monsters storms to the top of the Malaysian box office, proving the yellow mischief-makers are as popular as ever.

The latest instalment - the third standalone Minions film and the seventh overall entry in the Despicable Me franchise - has dethroned China's sleeper hit Dear You, ending the drama's impressive run at No. 1.
