KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 6 -- A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in an incident at a secondary school in Kulim, Kedah, with police saying he had been experiencing stress over his studies and upcoming examinations.

Kulim district police chief Superintendent Syamsul Sinring said the incident occurred at about 3.40pm on Sunday during a school break.

Police received a report from a 48-year-old male teacher after the student was found injured near a staircase at the school.

"The complainant went to the location and found the victim still conscious and able to speak before he was taken to Kulim Hospital for treatment," Syamsul said in a statement today.
