KUCHING, Oct. 22 -- Police are gathering and verifying information as investigations into the alleged attack on a female teacher at an international school here on Wednesday morning continue.

According to the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters, the investigation team is carrying out various investigative measures to ensure the accuracy of the information obtained.

In a statement, the contingent said the investigation is ongoing and appealed to the media to refrain from contacting acting Sarawak Police Commissioner DCP Saifullizan Ishak personally for the time being to allow him to focus on his duties and directives related to the case.

A press conference is also scheduled for Oct 27, with the time to be announced later.
