Johor to add 5,000 smart CCTVs across Greater Johor Bahru in five years
PASIR GUDANG, Aug. 13 -- The Johor government plans to install 5,000 more smart closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across Greater Johor Bahru over the next five years to improve public safety, said State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor.
The cameras will be installed across four local authority areas as part of Johor's push to become a Smart State through greater use of technology.
"We are targeting about 5,000 new smart CCTV cameras next year in the Greater JB region, that includes local authorities from the Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB), Pasir Gudang City Council, Iskandar Puteri City Council and Kulai Municipal Council.
