KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 -- The organisers of Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur 2026 (IMKL) have apologised for what they described as an oversight in engaging a geopolitical commentator with pro-Israel-leaning views as a speaker without conducting a more rigorous background review.

According to Free Malaysia Today, the organisers acknowledged concerns raised over the participation of British journalist, foreign affairs commentator and author Tim Marshall at the June 9 event.

They said some of his past writings and commentary had drawn criticism from pro-Palestinian groups, who view them as sympathetic towards Israel.
