JAKARTA, Oct. 5 -- Indonesia has reinstated TikTok's local operating licence after the Chinese-owned social media company complied with government demands for user activity data linked to late-August protests.

According to a statement by the country's Communications and Digital Affairs Ministry yesterday, TikTok provided the requested information on its Live traffic and monetisation activity between August 25 and 30.

"As the obligations are met, the ministry ends the licence suspension," said Alexander Sabar, a director general at the ministry, in a statement cited by Bloomberg.
