KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 4 -- A total of 864 high-profile individuals, including prominent figures (VVIPs), members of parliament and state assemblymen, have been identified for failing to pay Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) contributions for their domestic workers.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the figure was part of 10,033 employers of domestic workers found to have failed to comply with the contribution requirements, based on Perkeso's preliminary checks as at November 1.

Asked whether any ministers were among the employers who had failed to comply, Ramanan revealed that individuals holding positions higher than Cabinet members had also been found to have committed the offence.
