IPOH, May 30 -- Boat service operations at Gunung Lang Recreational Park, one of Ipoh's major tourist attractions, have been temporarily suspended from May 29 to June 4.

The Ipoh City Council said in a statement that the temporary closure is to allow repair and maintenance works to be carried out on two boats, Bot Lang 4 and Bot Lang 5.

"The repair works are necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors and passengers.

"We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused. The cooperation and patience of the public are greatly appreciated," it said.

The council also said boat services would resume if the repair works are completed earlier than scheduled.

"Further updates will be provided from time to time," it added.
