BATU PAHAT, Aug. 10 -- Five men, who are being investigated in connection with the murder of a businessman here, have been remanded for another week.

Magistrate Aimi Nawwar Mohamad Othman granted the remand extension for all the suspects, aged between 26 and 40, at the Magistrate's Court here today until Monday.

Their remand is to assist investigators who are probing the murder of a 39-year-old businessman whose bound body was found floating in Sungai Tanjung Sembrong in Parit Raja here last week.

The five suspects were previously in police custody and were remanded for seven days to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Their initial remand application ended today.
