KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 7 -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has reiterated its plan to appeal Fifa's judgement on the status of seven heritage players.

In a media statement, FAM firmly rejected the characterization presented in FIFA's decision, calling it inaccurate and unfounded.

The association stressed that there is no solid evidence to support claims that players "obtained or were aware of fake documents."

FAM blamed an administrative error-specifically, a staff member mistakenly uploaded documents from an agent rather than official records issued by the National Registration Department (JPN).

To rectify the situation, FAM is preparing a formal appeal using verified documents endorsed by the Malaysian government.
