KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 20 -- In a move to further tighten the Postal Services Act, the government is planning to amend the Act to prevent criminal exploitation of delivery services.

Communications minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil revealed that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Communications Ministry are currently reviewing the Act amidst concerns over courier services being used to transport illegal drugs and prohibited goods.

Fahmi also said that MCMC has been working with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) since last year and has also done engagement sessions with courier companies in Malaysia.
