Electrical worker dies after suspected electrocution during installation work in Sandakan
SANDAKAN, Aug. 23 -- An electrical contractor worker died after he was believed to have been electrocuted while carrying out installation work near Bandar Tabin Jaya here yesterday.
The victim, identified as Jai, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Health Ministry medical officer.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Jimmy Lagung said the department received an emergency call at 7.53pm before seven firefighters and a fire engine arrived at the scene at 8.03pm.
He said Sabah Electricity (SE) first disconnected the electricity supply to ensure the area was safe before firefighters used special equipment to bring the victim down from an electricity pole.
