SINGAPORE, Sept. 28 -- Telecommunications company Simba has disclosed a data breach affecting 23,549 customers, with compromised information including names, identity card numbers and dates of birth.

CNA reported that according to the company, investigations found that the affected data also included customers' mobile phone numbers and email addresses linked to Simba service registrations.

In a statement issued on Sept 25, Simba said it discovered the incident a day earlier and had since contained and resolved the breach. The company stressed that no credit card or bank account information was at risk.

Simba said there was currently no indication that any of the exposed data had been maliciously misused.
