KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 14 -- Police are pursuing members of a drug syndicate in Malaysia after a Malaysia Airlines pilot was arrested in Jakarta late last month with more than 26 kilogrammes of drugs in his luggage.

According to Berita Harian (BH), Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the operation followed intelligence obtained after investigators interrogated the pilot over two days.

He said the questioning enabled police to gather information on syndicate networks in Malaysia and abroad, as well as the individuals involved. Hussein added that further details could not yet be disclosed publicly.
