Kuala Lampur, Sept. 22 -- KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 - Police have denied claims circulating online that a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) escorted a vehicle believed to be carrying stolen cables in Kampung Tasik Tambahan, Ampang, last Saturday.

Sinar Harian reported that Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation and Community Safety Department director Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said police had arrested a cable theft suspect in connection with the incident.

He said claims that the police vehicle was involved in a conspiracy with the cable thieves were untrue.
