NEW YORK, Sept. 25 -- Malaysia has outlined three key priorities to strengthen efforts to build lasting global peace that benefit the international community.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the first priority was to ensure that peacebuilding efforts are nationally owned and led, meaningful and inclusive, BuletinTV3 reported.

"Malaysia supports nationally owned and nationally led prevention and peacebuilding strategies, complemented by preventive diplomacy and mediation efforts," he said.

He said this in his intervention at the Ministerial-Level Meeting of the Peacebuilding Commission held in conjunction with the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) here today.
