We reflect proudly on how far our nation has built its independence. As we march toward Merdeka 2026, a quiet crisis threatens the personal independence of millions, Malaysia is ageing rapidly, and our workforce is entirely unprepared.
By 2030, over 15 per cent of our population will be aged 60 and above, officially marking Malaysia as an aged nation. DOSM figures show that as of 2024, 11.6 per cent (3.9 million people) had already crossed that threshold.
