NEW YORK, Oct. 31 -- Singer Billie Eilish used her acceptance speech at the WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards here to call on billionaires to do more for those in need.
The 23-year-old Grammy-winning singer said the world was "really, really bad and really dark" and urged wealthy individuals to act with empathy.
"If you have money, it would be great to use it for good things, maybe give it to some people that need it," she told the star-studded crowd at the Museum of Modern Art.
Eilish went further by addressing some guests directly, saying, "Love you all, but there's a few people in here that have a lot more money than me."
She added, "If you're a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties....
