KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 3 -- Spider-Man: Brand New Day has grossed RM30 million during its four-day opening weekend at the Malaysian box office.

The film has now set a new record as Sony Pictures Malaysia's biggest opening weekend of all time.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Malaysia Managing Director Simon Foo said, "With all the excitement around this film, we wanted to do our part to elevate the experience of our movie-goers with initiatives like a Spider-Man gathering at select cinemas during Spider-Man Day as well as lighting up the city with drone and fireworks performance.

"We're thrilled to see that everyone is as excited as we are."
