KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 -- FamilyMart Malaysia has suspended an employee accused of throwing soup at a delivery rider following a dispute captured in a viral social media video, according to FMT.

The convenience store chain said the staff member had been taken off duty pending an internal investigation into the incident, which allegedly took place at its outlet in The Core, Kota Damansara.

"Our team is investigating the incident with urgency and the staff (allegedly) involved has been placed off duty," FamilyMart Malaysia said in a statement to the media organisation.

"FamilyMart does not tolerate any rude, unsafe or disrespectful behaviour towards anyone at our stores."
