KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 30 -- Malaysian action film Chelot has hit RM19.5 million at the box office as of September 27, with director Adrian Teh confirming that a sequel is now in development.

The announcement was made on Monday at Bonda Kuala Lumpur in Kampung Baru during a celebration marking the film's box-office performance, where Teh declared: "Chelot 2 is a go."

The sequel remains in its early stages, with work currently focused on the script.

No shooting or release date has been announced, while details on whether the original cast will return remain up in the air.

The RM19.5 million haul puts Chelot second among the highest-grossing Malaysian films of 2026, behind Tarung: Unforgiven, which has collected RM23.3 million.
