India, Sept. 11 -- Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai is so much more than boxes of sweets, dazzling lights and stunning decorations. It is an emotion that comes alive with the sound of dhol beats echoing through every lane, the sight of pandals lighting up the corners, and the feeling of Bappa coming home to families who have waited an entire year to meet him again. For eleven days, the doors remain open, neighbours become family, and the city slows down to celebrate the festival together. And bringing all these emotions together, wrapped in little parcels of joy and fulfilment, are artisanal modaks that nobody in Mumbai, or perhaps anywhere in the country, can resist.
