WPI Inflation Accelerates To 9.87% In June As Food, Metals Costs Rise
New Delhi, July 15 -- The annual wholesale price inflation (WPI) accelerated to 9.87 percent in June 2026 from 9.68 percent in May, driven mainly by higher prices of mineral oils, food articles, basic metals, and chemicals, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Wholesale Inflation Rises In June
The All Commodities WPI stood at 110.2 in June, up from 109.9 in May.
Among major categories, inflation for Primary Articles rose to 7.0 percent from 4.99 percent, while fuel and power inflation eased to 27.41 percent from 30.33 percent. Inflation in Manufactured Products remained unchanged at 7.48 percent.
