Hyderabad, Aug. 3 -- The number of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) supplying Telangana's aerospace and defence sector has increased to around 1,500-2,000 from over 400 a decade ago, strengthening the state's position to tap domestic and export opportunities.

Telangana Director for Aerospace and Defence Praveen PA said the state has developed a strong defence manufacturing ecosystem over several decades, supported by its presence in the country's missile, aerospace and defence industries.

He said the growth in the MSME base has positioned the state's aerospace and defence ecosystem to benefit from opportunities in both domestic procurement and exports.
