New Delhi, May 20 -- India's fast-expanding renewable energy sector is set to generate between USD 10 billion and USD 15 billion worth of opportunities in land acquisition and aggregation by 2030, according to a new report by real estate consultancy Colliers India.

The projected figures are pegged to India's national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil-based installed power capacity by 2030.

The report noted that solar and wind projects alone are expected to contribute 270-300 GW of this addition, requiring nearly 1.73 million acres (approximately 7 lakh acres) of land across the country.
