RBI's Foreign Capital Measures Attract USD 39 Billion Inflows: Governor Malhotra
New Delhi, July 27 -- The Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) recent measures to attract foreign capital have received a strong response, with banks mobilising nearly USD 32 billion, largely through Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank) [FCNR(B)] deposits, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra has said.
He added that government securities have attracted over USD 7 billion in foreign inflows since the June policy measures.
Capital Inflows Strengthen External Position
In an interview with Businessline, Malhotra said the inflows have strengthened India's external position amid global geopolitical uncertainties and volatile capital flows.
