New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- The Rajya Sabha has passed the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, aimed at addressing delayed payments to MSMEs, streamlining dispute resolution and improving liquidity for the sector.

The Bill, moved by Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, was passed by voice vote. It seeks to amend the MSME Development Act, 2006, by prescribing timelines for resolving payment disputes and strengthening mechanisms for recovery of settlements and arbitral awards.
