Srinagar, April 28 -- Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan handed over approval letter for road projects worth Rs 3,566 crore under PMGSY-IV (Batch-II) to Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, aimed at boosting rural connectivity in the region.

The approvals were announced at a programme in Srinagar, where the Minister also highlighted that total road project sanctions for the Union Territory have reached nearly Rs 8,000 crore within a year. He said the initiative is focused on connecting remote habitations and improving access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and markets.
