New Delhi, March 23 -- The government has taken proactive steps to manage the evolving situation in West Asia, focusing on fuel supply, maritime operations and the safety of Indian nationals, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) said in a press release over the weekend.
The ministry highlighted that despite the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, India has adequate stocks of crude oil, petrol and diesel, with refineries operating at high capacity. No fuel shortages have been reported at retail outlets, and the public has been advised against panic buying.
Domestic LPG supply remains normal with no reported dry-outs even as commercial LPG availability remains under pressure.
